We got it, 7 months ago...

I'm sure my last post left you on pins and needles, thank goodness only like two people read this.  We got the house!  I wish I could say I'm totally unpacked, but I cannot.  We had a great summer here swimming in the pool, using the outdoor kitchen, swimming some more.  The pool is a bit of work, but seriously worth having.  Addison has turned into an amazing little swimmer and she is very confident in the water.  This photo was the day we moved in.  She was ready to go even though the water was COLD.  We all had fun swimming during the heat.  Here is a quick photo catch up.

We went on a week long cruise to Mexico in April.

John took us to the circus this summer.  Addison loved everything, but especially the elephants.

Floats at Coke World.  So many yummy flavors.

Learning to ride her bike, but it was so hot this summer we put it away until the fall.

Our annual trip to Magic Mountain.

First day of kindergarten.

Halloween.  She is totally into spooky stuff and wanted to be Dracula's daughter.

Birthday party at a pottery painting store.

And this is what she got for her birthday.

Hopefully Optimistic

We have been in Vegas nearly two years now.  When we moved down here we got an apartment and signed a six month lease because we planned on quickly getting a house, but obviously that hasn't happened.  Until possibly now.  We just put a house under contract!  I am super excited, but the housing market is still crazy and a little volatile, so until we really sign I know things may not exactly work out.  But still, I'm really hopeful. The house is up North, it has everything we wanted (3 car garage, RV parking, and a pool).  I will keep you posted!  Now you have a place to stay in Vegas that doesn't include sleeping on a blow up mattress in my tiny living room (I'm talking to you Emily Eyre).

Really?

I have been sick for over a month now.  I have had a cold, the flu, some weird pains, another cold, allergic reaction to medicine etc.  I'm finally on the mend (I hope).  Here is a catch up from the last couple of months.

John was off for surgery, while out he grew a full beard, but could only keep the moustache when he went back to work.  He gets so many comments about it!  Everyone thinks he should be on Reno 911.

Addison tured 5.  We had our first "friend" birthday party.  We went to the bowling alley, had lunch and played at the arcade.  The bottom photo is her out for dinner with John and me at Olive Garden.  That is her favorite restaurant, and she got the big chocloate cake.  Hard to believe she is already five, my baby is definitely growing up.

There is a chocolate factory here with botanical gardens that they light up for the holidays.  It was really fun to explore, and they give tours of the chocolate factory with free chocolate at the end.  It was probably the best FHE of the month.

Sams Town does a laser light holiday show and they have snow makers, so Addison got some Vegas snow before Christmas.

For her birthday I took Addison to the Nutcracker at the Smith Center.  She got a new fancy dress to wear, and insisted on wearing the headband that way.  It wasn't worth the fight, so I just let her.  She was really good through the ballet.  The last 10 minutes she was a little restless, but I was proud of her. She loved the costumes and sets.
Here is a shot in front of our little tree.  We spend Christmas in Utah, so we only had a few weeks to enjoy the tree.  Addison and I made all the decorations.

While in Utah we visited some friends who have chickens.  Some were friendly enought to hold.

After Christmas we went to Ely, and Addison spent a couple of weeks at Grammie and Papas.  She got the full winter snow experience.  I think she played out in the snow every day, built snowmen, made snow angels, and ate her weight in snow.

Family Vacation

I'm a little behind in posting, but in October we went to California for a week.  We took Addison to Disneyland for the first time and she loved it.  She is totally into the princesses so we sprung for the Bibbity Bobbity Botique.  You get a fairy godmother in training who does you all up like the princess of your choosing.  Addison went with Rapunzel and had a great time.  We then went to lunch with the Princesses.  It was great, lunch was actually good and you got one on one time with five princesses without the line!  We checked out the new cars land, but Addison's favorite part of California Adventure was the Bugs Life rides.  We loved World of Color.  It is this amazing water/movie/music show they do at night.  We had the best viewing area, right in front dead center.  It is considered a soak zone, but there wasn't a drop of water that night.  We decided to chance it because one of the workers told us the wind was blowing the right way and we would stay dry.  It was amazing!  It was fun going around Halloween because we got to see some of the villans.  Last year Addison was the Queen of Hearts for Halloween so she was excited to meet the real Queen.

After a couple of Disney days we drove down to San Diego.  We went to SeaWorld, which was awesome fun and spent a day at the beach.  We also did some shopping.  John and I were there on our honeymoon, and went to the same Cheesecake Factory for dinner.  Crazy to think of all the changes in our life in the past 8 years!  Addison was loving the kids rides again, she is turning into a brave little girl.  Love that she always wants to ride with her daddy.  Addison has decided that she wants to work at SeaWorld with the animals when she grows up.
